Nights Like Tonight
How wonderfully spontaneous! My husband and I were able to go on a surprise date tonight (swiftly suggested at 6pm and headed out for said date by 6:30pm). This evening, we randomly decided to go eat dinner at a local mall and watch the 7:45pm showing of THE HUNGER GAMES in honor of my ability two read the first two books of this trilogy this weekend and simply because we love each other!
It is funny how when you become married, dates become more simple. You tend to cook a nice dinner for each other and watch a movie at home or go grocery shopping followed by a trip to get frozen yogurt. Nights like tonight really are a special treat!
However, being that today is Sunday, I am not looking forward to having to get out of bed and watch my poor freshmen take their first real STAAR test. Did I mention that by “watch” I really mean actively monitor… so it’s not like I will be reading a book, playing on my phone or catching up on grading papers. I will literally be actively engaged in watching that each student takes their test without glancing at other students tests and once an hour reminding them how much time they have left as well as to make sure that they bubble their answers on their scantrons.
Nevertheless, I am very thankful for nights like tonight!
